Job summary

Royal Oak is seeking a Packaging Technician D to operate the machines used to package charcoal briquets. You may work with scales, baggers, sewing machines, checkweighers, bundlers, robots, wrappers, or trunklines as assigned.

You will maintain a clean work area, identify quality issues, perform basic corrective actions, and participate in changeovers with assistance, in a facility with open exposure to weather.

Qualifications

• LOTO certification required within 14 days of hire.
• Able to operate packaging equipment and identify critical elements on each machine.
• Able to perform basic corrective actions and participate in changeovers with assistance.
• Maintain a clean work area and identify quality issues.
• May involve repetitive movements and lifting up to 60 lbs.
• Open environment in packaging area with exposure to varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Operate the machines required to package charcoal briquets.

Packaging technicians are able to operate one of the following pieces of equipment; Scales, Bagger, Sewing Machine, Checkweigher, Bundler, Robot, Wrapper, and/or Trunkline.

Position Requirements/Qualifications:

LOTO Certified within 14-days of position/hire

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

• Able to operate equipment at standard run rates
• Able to identify critical elements on each machine
• Able to perform basic corrective actions
• Able to perform a change over w/ assistance
• Maintain a clean work area
• Identify quality issues
• May involve repetitive movements
• Lifting up to 60 lbs.
• Frequent bending, stooping, pushing and pulling as necessary
• Due to the open environment of the packaging area, must be able to work in various weather and temperature conditions
