Job summary

Ellsworth Cooperative Creamery in Menomonie, WI, is hiring a Packaging Team Member to help turn award‑winning cheese into products for customers nationwide. You will set up and operate packaging equipment, inspect weights and seals, and maintain clean, safe work areas with teammates.

No prior cheese experience is required; we provide training. Expect 10‑hour shifts on a 4‑day schedule, with some overtime and a strong team culture focused on quality and safety.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Reliable attendance and dependability with ability to read and follow instructions.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English; teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Setting up, operating and cleaning packaging equipment.
• Cutting bulk cheese blocks weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Checking product weight, packaging and seal quality.
• Verifying labels and packaging match customer orders.
• Keeping production running efficiently and meeting quality standards.
• Completing required production and quality documentation.
• Following food safety, sanitation and GMP requirements.
• Keeping work area clean, organized and safe.
• Working with teammates and other departments to meet production goals.

Schedule

2nd Shift: 1:00 PM – 11:00 PM

Days: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday

Days Off: Wednesday, Saturday & Sunday

Overtime may be available or required based on production needs, including occasional Saturdays.

Requirements

What We're Looking For

You don't need previous cheese or food manufacturing experience - we'll provide training. We're looking for people who are dependable, willing to learn and take pride in doing quality work.

Required

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• High school diploma or equivalent

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions

Basic computer skills are helpful, but training is provided.

Physical Demands

• Frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds
• Stand and walk for up to 10 hours per shift
• Perform repetitive motions throughout the workday

Work Environment

You'll work in a food manufacturing environment where food safety, cleanliness and teamwork are priorities. The position includes regular exposure to refrigerated areas and cleaning chemicals. All team members are trained on required safety, sanitation and food safety procedures.
