Job summary

Swiss American CDMO is seeking a Packaging Team Lead in Carrollton, TX to mentor staff and ensure finished goods are produced safely, efficiently, and in compliance with FDA, GMP, ISO, OSHA, and SAP policies.

You will train operators on BOM notes and SOPs, monitor safety and quality, coordinate with cross‑functional teams, and manage data entry into the Electronic Batch Record while supporting lean manufacturing practices.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of high school education.
  • At least 1 year team lead experience in a production/manufacturing environment.
  • Strong written and verbal English; basic Spanish a plus.
  • Active listening skills and ability to motivate and coach.
  • Ability to solve problems and work with limited standardization.
  • Supports lean manufacturing practices and safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Lead packaging team to meet safety, quality, and on‑time production goals.
  • Train employees on BOM notes and Standard Procedures.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and enforce SOP adherence.
  • Coordinate with cross‑functional departments to ensure smooth operations.
  • Record data into Electronic Batch Record accurately during runs.
  • Perform line clearance and basic maintenance tasks as required.
  • Conduct routine quality checks along production lines.
  • Plan activities using the production scheduling board.
  • Supervise training and OJT for new and existing staff.
  • Support lean manufacturing practices and daily coaching.

Position Summary: The Packaging Team lead is responsible for taking a leadership role with employees and ensuring that finished goods are produced in a safe, efficient, timely, and compliant manner meeting all FDA, GMP, ISO, OSHA, contract customer, and SAP policies.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Capable of comprehending Standardized Work guidelines for labor, equipment, and materials, effectively applying them to attain team objectives related to safety, productivity, quality, and delivery.
  • Proficient in the application of Plan-Do-Check-Adjust methodology, demonstrating expertise as a seasoned problem solver on the production floor.
  • Must possess the ability to train employees in fundamental packaging skills, instructing them on proper adherence to BOM notes and Standard Procedures.
  • Consistently evaluates the work environment for safety issues and challenges, proactively identifying and implementing effective solutions.
  • Facilitates constructive communication between management, supervisors, the team, and cross‑functional departments, contributing to a harmonious work environment.
  • Demonstrates a positive attitude and a strong commitment to teamwork.
  • Properly allocates data into the Electronic Batch Record by accurately filling out the necessary data fields.
  • Completing the line clearance process prior to each production run to ensure that the production line and all associated products meet approval standards.
  • Accountable for performing fundamental maintenance tasks such as handling change of Tapes, Sleeves, and Safety tabs.
  • Conduct routine quality checks along the production lines throughout their operational duration to ensure seamless operations and adherence to quality standards.
  • Capable of comprehending the production scheduling board and subsequently planning activities in alignment with the schedule.
  • Ensuring their ability to work with critical information paperwork and adhering to appropriate documentation error checks within their teams.
  • Must be able to safely operate a pallet jack.
  • Ensure that their employees uphold cleanliness in their assigned areas both during their shift and at the end of it.
  • Expected to successfully complete the lean certification class and provide daily coaching to their employees on lean manufacturing practices.
  • Possess the capability to utilize the visual matrix effectively to closely monitor the productivity of each production line.
  • Proficient in interpreting the Scheduling Board.
  • The potential to grow into a Team Leader level ll.
  • The ability to work both on the inside and outside of the production lines.
  • Capable of performing weekly performance evaluations for employees and overseeing the On‑The‑Job Training certification program for both new and existing staff members.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

  • Strong written and verbal communication in English (typical eighth‑grade level). Ability to clearly convey instructions, delegate tasks, and provide feedback. (Basic oral Spanish a plus).
