Job summary

Pharmavite is seeking a Manufacturing Operator to promote safety and lead production teams in a fast-paced environment. You will troubleshoot equipment issues, mentor workers, and drive key performance indicators like OEE and on-time changeovers.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED (or 5 years of equivalent experience) and solid English communication. Knowledge of JD Edwards is a plus, with a strong focus on GMP practices.

Responsibilities:
  • Promote a culture of safety within the team ensuring all members participate in BBS/MDSE program and attend the monthly departmental safety meetings, as well as properly use required PPE.
  • Effectively lead others, possesses strong problem-solving skills, and has the technical knowledge to troubleshoot production matters related to quality and/or operational issues while meeting deadlines.
  • Train mentors and develop team members to enable an agile workforce that is cross-trained on multiple pieces of equipment/processes and functions.
  • Lead team to meet or exceed daily shift Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in the areas of Operations Equipment Efficiencies (OEE), schedule adherence, and changeovers.
  • Utilizing a continuous improvement mindset, identifies key losses to improve throughput and yield.
  • Assist in driving root cause problem-solving with urgency and ensure team uses AM tools such as finding and fixing defects, completion of Clean, Inspect and Lubricate (CIL), and focus on Rapid Change Over (RCO) reductions.
  • Facilitate and troubleshoot technical problems to overcome routine manufacturing equipment issues for areas of responsibility.
  • Ensure that respective areas and departments are audit ready at any time by utilizing departmental GMP audit scores to effectively improve ratings.
  • Responsible for leading and coordinating equipment changeover, work assignments.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Education: High school graduate or GED required or 5 years of equivalent work history.
  • Certification: None
  • Experience: Min 2 years’ work experience of increasing responsibility required manufacturing experience in a similar industry preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Ability to lead delivery of required results in Safety, Quality, Productivity and Cost each shift.
  • Proficient English ability; required to read/understand written instructions, manuals, and other information; to maintain a variety of written records, and train, employees in a complex process of operating procedures and manufacturing instructions.
  • Basic knowledge of the JD Edwards Enterprise One system or other required systems in order to assist in the close out of work orders.
  • Utilizes calculator and or computer to perform routine mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, division, percentages) and maintain various production and cleaning logs in addition to proper record keeping.
  • Knowledge of cGMP's, basic safety practices in an industrial environment, and familiarity with production goals and setting performance objectives.
  • Mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot and fix equipment malfunctions.
Physical Requirements:
  • Stand/walk for most of the work shift. Perform duties that require constant visual attention to manufacturing process.
  • Occasionally push/pull boxes/containers weighing from 30 up to 500 pounds utilizing powered industrial trucks or other lifting devices.
  • Manual dexterity required to manipulate controls, disassemble/assemble equipment/boxes using a variety of hand tools.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, twisting, reaching, lifting, keyboarding, squatting and grasping.

The salary range for this position is $46,000.00 - $76,000.00.

Actual compensation will take into account a wide range of factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to geographic location, education, experience, qualifications and job-related skills. It is not typical for an individual to be hired above the midpoint of the range for their role and compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case.
