ALPLA in Lima, OH is seeking a Packaging Operator to support production packaging activities. You will coordinate material needs, assist packaging operators, and operate various packaging equipment to ensure efficient line throughput.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 6 months of packaging experience; candidates must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for 12 hours. Training and safety compliance are emphasized within a collaborative team environment.

• Coordinate packaging needs with Shift Supervisor on production lines.

• Set up and operate multiple packaging equipment types (carton erectors, inserters, etc.).
• Verify labels match the product in areas with manual labeling.
• Manage packer break schedules and training documentation.
• Audit packer standard work and quality checks.

What Will You Enjoy Doing

Main Responsibilities:

• Coordinates with Shift Supervisor the packaging needs on production equipment
• Ensures all lines are adequately supplied with materials needed. For example:
  • Foil
  • Cartons
  • Tray
  • etc.
• Assists Packaging Operators as needed to ensure a smooth workflow
  • Setup and operate multiple types of packaging equipment. Equipment may include, but is not limited to: carton erectors, partition inserters, product inserters, top closers, palletization equipment
• Ensures labels correctly match the product in facilities where manual labeling is required
• Manage and assign break schedule for packers
• Support troubleshooting and training initiatives for Packers
• Audit packer standard work and completion
• Audit packer quality checks and completion

• Completion of package paperwork

What Makes You Great

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Min. 6 months of Packaging Operator experience preferred
• Some lead experience preferred
• Good mechanical skill
• Capable of lifting 25 pounds and standing for a minimum of 12 hours
• Able to work with multiple types of equipment simultaneously
