Job summary

Saputo Cheese USA Inc. is seeking a Tail Off Operator Relief in California to support the brine packaging line and ensure efficient packaging of cheese.

You will setup equipment, maintain operations, verify codes, labels and packaging, and coordinate with teams on changeovers while following GMP and safety guidelines. This role emphasizes documentation, quality checks, and safe operation of palletizing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Set up all equipment and supplies including Rapid Paks, metal detector, Dominoes, scales, tape machine, glue machines, scale fusions, case erectors and robotic lines.
• Responsible for generating and documentation of computer pallet tickets and quality checks including CPQ’s.
• Verify codes, labels, and packaging and ensure correct cheese and vats are packed within specifications.
• Read computer print outs and follow a designated schedule.
• Communicate product changeovers and duties based on workstation rotation.
• Perform quality checks on film and code dates, metal detectors, product boxes, tare weight and lot numbers.
• Send product samples to lab for testing.
• Maintain all department documentation and keep a clean, safe, and sanitary work area in GMP compliance.
• Operate forklift/walkie pallet jack safely and efficiently.
• Perform all other assigned duties.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Tail Off Operator Relief is responsible for set up and maintenance of brine packaging equipment; maintenance and efficiency of packaging cheese. Always adheres to all USDA, GMP, and safety regulations.

How You Will Make Contributions That Matter

• Will report issues/concerns to Supervisor on duty pertaining to personnel, GMP, quality and safety
• Setup all equipment and supplies- this includes but not limited to Rapid Paks, metal detector, Dominoes, scales, tape machine, glue machines, scale fusions, case erectors and robotic lines
• Responsible for generating and documentation of computer pallet tickets and quality checks including CPQ’s
• Will check and verify all codes, labels, and packaging
• Will verify that correct cheese and vats are being packed within specifications
• Responsible for reading computer print outs and following a designated scheduled
• Will ensure communication of product changeovers, products to run before and after changeovers, and duties based on workstation rotation to fellow employees
• Will complete quality checks on film and code dates, metal detectors, product boxes, and use of tare weight and correct lot number usage
• Responsible for product samples to lab for testing purposes
• Responsible for all department documentation
• Ability to work in a safe and sanitary manner in compliance with GMP’s
• Responsible for maintaining a clean, orderly and neat work area
• Respect Physical Demands of job listed in "Physical Demands" section below.
• Use of forklift/walkie pallet jack equipment in a safe and efficient manner
• All other assigned duties

Hourly Range $28.73-$33.05
