Job summary

Red Gold, Inc. is seeking a packaging operator to cover breaks and vacations on the factory floor in the packaging department, ensuring throughput, first-time quality, safety and schedule attainment.

You will respond to equipment deviations, perform cleaning, train new employees, assist with line changeovers, and minimize waste while following GMPs and company policies. A high school diploma or GED and at least 6 months packaging experience are required.

  • Must have working knowledge of all packaging equipment, operations, and procedures
  • Basic math and writing skills to complete paperwork

Responsibilities

  • Respond to equipment deviations and bring equipment back under process controls
  • Perform equipment cleaning as required or scheduled
  • Notify supervision of current or potential mechanical concerns
  • Assist in training new packaging employees
  • Fill in for absences as required
  • Assist with line changeovers
  • Minimize waste of packaging materials
  • Perform additional job functions as requested by management

Job description

It is anticipated that the job holder will spend 100% of the time on the factory floor, in the packaging department, relieving operators for breaks, lunches, training activities, etc. and / or replacing operators during vacations or call-ins. The job is expected to provide a fully trained and experienced resource that is capable of replacing the assigned operator on the line (short term or long term) in such a way that all key performance factors for throughput, first time quality, safety and schedule attainment are met or exceeded.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Understands and responds to equipment deviations, acts quickly to bring equipment back under process controls
  • Performs equipment cleaning as required or scheduled
  • Notifies supervision of any current or potential mechanical concerns of the equipment
  • Assist in training new employees all packaging equipment
  • Fill-in for absences as required
  • Assist with line changeovers
  • Minimize waste of all packaging materials
  • Perform any additional job functions as requested by management
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent relevant experience in lieu of degree
  • Minimum of 6 months of packaging experience or relevant experience
  • Must have working knowledge of all packaging department equipment, operations, and procedures.
  • Basic math and writing skills necessary to complete required paperwork
