Job summary

Judge Direct Placement seeks a Packaging Project Manager for a food manufacturing client. You will lead capital and operational projects across multiple plants, coordinating with Operations, Quality, and Maintenance teams.

This role requires 50% travel to plants nationwide, strong Excel and Office skills, and a Bachelor's in mechanical or chemical engineering with 5+ years of capital project experience. USDA/FDA plant exp. preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or chemical engineering.
• 5+ years experience managing capital projects.
• Food industry experience required.
• 3+ years USDA or FDA regulated plant experience required.
• Microsoft Office skills including advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

• Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, and timelines.
• Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with vendors for pricing and services.
• Manage multiple capital and operational projects from conception through completion.
• Monitor costs and ensure budgets are met.
• Coordinate meetings and document key decisions for stakeholders.
• Drive project execution by managing schedules, resources, risks, and deliverables.
• Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Food Safety, Maintenance, and Supply Chain.
• Participate in equipment testing and acceptance activities.
• Support annual capital expenditure plans and budgets.
• Prepare project reports and provide status updates to leadership.
• Travel and off-hours work may be required based on project needs.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
