Job summary

Mars in Chicago is hiring a Procurement Operations Category Specialist to manage the end-to-end inbound supply chain for packaging materials in the direct sourcing area. You will partner with Sourcing Managers to drive regional and global sourcing strategies, serving as the primary factory liaison and leading risk mitigation and issue resolution.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain, Logistics, Materials Management, Business, Economics, Engineering, or a related discipline; internship experience and/or 1+ years in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Procurement; OR an Associate’s Degree in a relevant field plus 2+ years of professional experience.

Responsibilities

Purchasing indirect goods and services aligned with our strategic sourcing plan.
Identifying and managing supplier collaboration initiatives (forecast management, e-invoicing, process streamlining).
Direct oversight of designated spend and maintaining strong relationships with multiple suppliers and internal clients.
Collaborating with Procurement, R&D, and other stakeholders regarding the Packaging category.
