Job summary

Carlie C's IGA, Inc. is seeking a Packaging Operator for the 1st shift in Dunn, NC. The role supports production by handling materials, operating hand tools and equipment to deliver quality food products to North Carolina's dinner table.

Expect a physically demanding position requiring good hand-eye coordination, stamina, and the ability to work scheduled hours with possible overtime; the job is on-site with safety PPE. Monday–Friday, 7:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Qualifications

• Must be able to follow oral and written instructions.
• Capable of performing tasks requiring repetitive movement.
• Adequate stamina for long shifts and physical work.
• Willing to work with PPE in a noisy production setting.
• USDA compliance awareness is preferred.

Core Responsibilities

Production employees handle materials and use hand tools, knives, machinery, and equipment to help deliver good food responsibly to North Carolina‘s dinner table. Production team members that perform physically demanding work will require good hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, strength, and stamina. Team members must be available to work scheduled hours, which may include mandatory overtime, depending upon production demands.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, while in compliance with company policies and regulations, that are set forth by the USDA. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

All applicants must be at least 18 years of age.

Applicants must be willing and able to:

• Understand and follow oral and written instructions


• Perform tasks that requires continuous/repetitive movement; including but not limited to grasping, pinching hands, flexing, and extending arms


• Bend, stoop, andtwist at waist levelrepetitively over the course of an entire shift


• Standing on concrete and/or platforms for up to a 12-hour shift


• Climb/move on ladders, steps, stairways, walkways, and platforms


• Work in an environment that is wet and humid


• Work in cold areas (approximately 35-40 degrees) and/or warm areas (over 85 degrees)


• Work while wearing appropriate safety/protective equipment; including but not limited to hard hat, hearing and eye protection, gloves, hygiene equipment, boots


• Work in a noisy environment using personal protective equipment (PPE)


• Work with sanitation/cleaning chemicals


• Work around strong smells/odors


• This work is physically demanding and can require the use of some or all body parts and muscle groups. Some positions may require repetitive overhead lifting up to 30 lbs, single lifting of heavy objects which can weigh up to 60 lbs, or lifting of objects using mechanical assistance.
