Job summary

Schreiber Foods, Inc. is hiring a Packaging Operator for the day shift in Grand Rapids, MI. The role runs on a rotating schedule from 6:45 am to 7:00 pm, with starting pay at $22.75 per hour plus weekend premiums.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of experience running a production/packaging line.
• Forklift and pallet jack certification (or ability to obtain).
• Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate packaging equipment and machinery.
• Perform troubleshooting and routine maintenance inspections; minor repairs as needed.
• Keep area clean, organized and free of standing water.
• Monitor packaging quality and adjust as needed; document changes.
• Record and communicate machine changes during shift.
• Set up activities including loading of packaging materials (caps, corrugate, inner cartons).
• Perform thorough cleaning of packaging equipment and related areas; may include extended cleaning shifts.
• Meet production needs with minimal downtime and product shrinkage.
• Maintain consumables like glue, lubrication, ink; ensure proper storage locations.
• Participate in shift exchanges and team meetings.
• Identify Critical Control Points (CCP) and follow safety SOPs.
