Job summary

New Weds Foods in Chicago, IL is seeking a Bagger to operate a bagging machine, ensure labels and weights match, and pass bags through a metal detector before leaving the line.

You will stack bags on skids, calibrate scales, and maintain cleanliness while adhering to safety policies. The role requires lifting up to 50 lbs and effective communication with team members.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Knowledge about manufacturing food preferred.
• Able to communicate well, both verbal and written, with good mathematical skills.
• Able to lift 50 lbs. continuously.

Responsibilities

• Operate bagging machine to fill bags and ensure proper labeling and weight.
• Stack bags neatly on skids as required and on the correct skid color.
• Return unused labels to the Supervisor so that it can be recorded.
• Cleaning machine and work area as required.
• Detect any malfunction of the metal detector and rollers and report it to the supervisor.
• Comply with all safety requirements and company policies.
• Report all shortage to the lead operator.
• Notifies supervisor and QC tech if metal detector goes off.
• Calibrate floor scale for accurate weights.
• Lifts 20 - 40 lb bags consistently
• Operates automatic palletizer.
• Ensures product samples are given to QC tech every 5th pallet
• Ensures Load Moved tickets are signed or initialed
• Makessure pack-list is completed for traceability.
• Requires climbing step ladders.
• Performs sanitation of all packaging equipment.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
