Packaging Operator 2nd & 3rd Shift (Lynchburg, VA)

Job Title:Packaging Operator – 2nd and 3rd Shifts

Department:Packaging

Position Overview:

As a Packaging Operator, you will play a key role in ensuring products are packaged efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all quality standards. You'll operate production equipment, perform quality checks, and contribute to a team-driven environment to meet or exceed production goals.

This role requires adherence to both domestic and international GMPs, SOPs, and OSHA safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate Equipment Safely:Operate all packaging equipment in compliance with SOPs and OSHA safety standards, ensuring quality checks are performed consistently.
  • Perform Maintenance Tasks:Execute daily maintenance routines per the autonomous maintenance policy.
  • Troubleshoot Production Issues:Identify and address potential production issues proactively, communicating effectively with supervisors and maintenance teams.
  • Achieve Production Goals:Collaborate with team members to meet production targets and maximize uptime.
  • Maintain Cleanliness:Keep work areas clean and organized in compliance with U.S. and international GMP standards.
  • Document Production Activities:Accurately complete logs and reports, including downtime, material usage, production yield, batch details, and inventory control.
  • Train New Operators:Assist in training new team members as needed.
  • Other Duties:Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent walking, including navigating non-handicap-accessible areas, and occasional ladder use.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of related experience in a production or packaging environment.
