Your Role:

As a Packaging Operator 2 at MilliporeSigma, you will perform filling, capping, and labeling to produce reagents and kits used by research and clinical testing laboratories worldwide. Your responsibilities include:

  • Completing packaging documentation and delivering products to inventory following regulatory and quality procedures (FDA, ISO, GMP).
  • Performing manual and semi-automated filling, capping, and labeling of chemical products.
  • Setting up, operating, troubleshooting, and cleaning semi-automated filling equipment independently.
  • Organizing and executing complex and hazardous fills, including aseptic techniques and environmental controls.
  • Utilizing pumps, electronic balances, and filtration systems for material transfer and preparation.
  • Operating and troubleshooting capping and labeling equipment (semi-automated and automated), and performing manual labeling and capping as needed.
  • Adhering to all quality and safety procedures, including PPE use, hazard awareness, and safety activities participation.
  • Contributing to process improvement, maintaining good housekeeping and audit readiness, and assisting in training personnel.

Physical Attributes:

  • Wearing PPE such as hard hats, safety shoes, safety glasses, gloves, hair nets, beard covers (if applicable), Tyvek suits, shoe covers, and respirators. Lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds unassisted, and more with assistance.
  • Working in areas that may be wet, humid, hot, or cold. Sitting, standing, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, twisting, or crouching throughout the shift.
  • Using close, distance, color, peripheral, depth vision, and focus adjustment.
  • Working with and near hazardous chemicals and human source materials.

Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least 1 year of experience in packaging, warehouse, manufacturing, distribution, processing, or customer service environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with filling, capping, and labeling chemical products.
  • 3+ months of experience in an ISO/GMP regulated environment.
  • 3+ months of chemical packaging, manufacturing, or scientific/laboratory experience.
  • Ability to perform basic math, including metrics and conversions.
  • Knowledge of safety rules, GMP, SOPs, UOPs.
  • Mechanical skills with pumps, balances, and material handling equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot automated packaging equipment.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to train others and work collaboratively.
  • Experience with hand tools.
