Responsibilities

  • Adhere to company rules and directions from Line Leader/Backup Leader.
  • Assist Material Handlers in bringing scheduled components to blistering/cartoning lines.
  • Verify components at line entry and stock according to lowest lot number first.
  • Review packaging spec and pick slip during start-up to ensure correct packaging.
  • Ensure proper operation of machines in assigned zone.
  • Communicate any product quality, safety, or machinery issues to Line Leader/Backup.
  • Foster teamwork and assist in training new employees (OJT).
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized line area at all times.
  • Provide 100% inspection of labeled bottles, IFCs, blisters, and master shippers for Lot # and expiration date.
  • Assist with changeovers and help others to expedite the process at shift changes.
  • Count returns/rejects by weight or count and move to reconciliation area.

PL Developments, also known as PLD, is a leading manufacturer, packager, and distributor of over-the-counter (OTC) pharmaceutical products and consumer healthcare goods.

SUMMARY:

The Packaging Operator is responsible for supporting the efficient operation of the blister and cartooning lines. Key responsibilities include verifying and stocking components, operating machinery within assigned zones, and inspecting packaged products for accuracy.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to work well with others
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for adhering to company rules and directions given by the Line Leader or Backup Leader
  • Assist Material Handlers in bringing scheduled components to the blistering or cartoning lines
  • Verifies components upon entry to the line and stocks components to be used according to the lowest lot number first
  • Reviews packaging specification and pick slip during start-up to assure product is being packaged as specified
  • Responsible for the proper operation of machines in assigned zone
  • Communicates to Line Leader and/or Backup Line Leader any issues pertaining to the quality of the product, safety concerns and machinery malfunctions
  • Fosters a teamwork environment by supporting and respecting peers
  • Assists in monitoring and training new employees for On The Job Training (OJT)
  • Ensures the line is always well maintained, clean and clutter-free throughout the day
  • Provides 100% inspection of labeled bottles, IFC’s, blisters and master shippers for the correct Lot # and expiration date
  • Responsible for cleaning up zone area first during changeovers and upon completion assists fellow coworkers with their zones in order to expedite the changeover
  • Counts returns and rejects by weight or physical count
  • Delivers returns to the reconciliation area and places components in the specified area
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Employees in this class are subject to extended periods of sitting, standing, walking, pushing and pulling, stooping and crouching and climbing. Occasional lifting of equipment or materials weighing up to 40 pounds. Incumbents May be exposed to hazardous materials, gases, electrical components, and equipment. Safety protocols and protective gear are provided.

Hourly rate starting at $17.00/hour
