Summary

This position is responsible for operating, troubleshooting, maintaining, and programming all packaging equipment on various lines. This position will break, cover vacancies, and train employees in all Packaging Operator positions to ensure that all packaging area equipment and people are able to package potato products in an efficient manner consistent with customer, quality assurance and packaging goals and expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensures the efficient operation of the Blueprint case packer and case erector, baggers, Ishida scales, and all supportingequipment of the Retail Line/Line 4 for optimal performance.
  • Ensures the efficient operation of baggers, Ishida scales and supporting equipment to meet required packaged volumes.
  • Ensures the efficient operation of package machines and support equipment to achieve required weights and bag and casecondition.
  • Corrects underweight cases and slip cases as needed.
  • Ensures packaging equipment and immediate area is maintained in a food sanitary manner, which meets Company standards.
  • Ensures packaging materials are readily available at all times.
  • Ensures proper programming on all packaging equipment.
  • Demonstrates the ability to troubleshoot all packaging equipment.
  • Demonstrates the ability to train on all procedures and operating techniques.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work with maintenance to perform preventative maintenance.
  • Ensures packaging equipment and immediate area is maintained in a food sanitary manner on a daily basis and during major cleanup, which meets company standards.
  • Ensures adjustments to packaging equipment, baggers, Ishida scales and bag coder are conducted for efficient operation and can troubleshoot and optimize the following components.
  • Ensures attendance and participation in training activities appropriate to the position and to incorporate acquired skills andknowledge.
  • Ensures no injuries of self or others by following safe work practices and policies.
  • Ensures self compliance with Company policies and procedures and Union Labor Agreement.
  • Ensures the interface with team members and other support groups is conducted in a participative management style conducive with operational goals.
  • Ensures that additional accountabilities as may be required by management be handled in a manner necessary to meet operational goals.
Typical Education

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

3+ years related experience and/or training
