Job summary

Rust-Oleum Corporation is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to keep plant machinery and facilities in peak condition. You will troubleshoot and repair pumps, motors, packaging lines, conveyors, piping, valves, and tanks, using a wide range of hand and power tools, plus precision instruments.

You will perform preventive maintenance, coordinate line changeovers for different products, and drive improvements in overall equipment effectiveness through Lean practices. Overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of maintenance experience in manufacturing, preferably chemical/paint.
• Must have expertise in packaging equipment, plumbing, and pipefitting.
• Skills in electrical work and instrument calibration are a plus.
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex packaging and material-handling equipment.
• Ability to consistently lift 50 pounds and work overtime as required.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain machinery and equipment including pumps, motors, filling and packaging equipment, conveyors, palletizers, piping, valves, tanks, agitators, drives, gearboxes.
• Use common hand and power tools and precision measuring instruments.
• Perform inspections and preventive maintenance for safety and reliability.
• Work with line operators to change over line equipment for different sizes.
• Improve OEE on filling lines by Pareto analysis and Lean tools to reduce downtime.
• Schedule repairs to minimize interference and troubleshoot quickly.
• Follow safety rules and complete daily shift cleanup tasks.
• Communicate results and issues with supervisor and co-workers; ensure shift hand-off is complete.
• Support and complete small capital projects.
