Job summary
JTM Food Group is seeking a Packaging Machine Operator for the 2nd shift (5 pm - 5 am) to support the production line. The role involves starting up and shutting down packaging equipment, monitoring weights, and maintaining clean, safe work areas in compliance with GMP and food safety standards.
You will load film, troubleshoot jams, label and stack finished cartons, and operate semi-automated equipment while reading a computer screen.
Qualifications
- Must read and write in English.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Able to stand for extended periods.
- Capable of working safely in potentially slippery conditions.
Responsibilities
- Handle startup and shutdown duties for packaging equipment at shift start/end.
- Ensure machines are in good repair and compliant with company regulations.
- Monitor product weights and maintain accuracy throughout shift.
- Dispose of waste from packaging machinery safely.
- Keep work area clean and organized.
- Operate/monitor packaging machines, load/unload film, manage jams.
- Reset machines after malfunctions and perform basic troubleshooting.
- Secure packaged items and prepare cartons for pallet transfer.
- Inspect, label, and stack finished products.
