Job description

Position Title: Pouch Line Operator

Department: Operations

Immediate Supervisor: Plant Supervisory Staff

Status: Hourly

Position Purpose: Operates the Pouch Line

Principle Accountabilities
  1. Responsible for the safe, controlled start-up and operation of the pouch line equipment including starting the machine, engaging the feed, observing the operation, and managing changeover processes.
  2. Inspects and measures completed pieces to verify conformity to customer production standards.
  3. Monitors and adjusts controls to ensure product complies with production standards.
  4. Supervises and instructs line assistants in all production tasks.
  5. Maintains equipment through completion of assigned preventative maintenance tasks and minor repairs as required.
  6. Records quality and production metrics via written communication methods within specified timeframes.
  7. Performs all work with a safety-first mentality and utilizes IPS lean manufacturing skills.
  8. Performs related tasks as requested by supervisor.
Essential Skills and Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment required.
  • Intermediate math skills and proficient English written communication skills necessary.
  • Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours at a time.
  • Ability to work in a space-limited work area on a continuous basis.
  • Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs regularly.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.50 per hour
