Job summary

KLN Family Brands is seeking a Packaging Operator for a 1st shift in Delano, MN. The role runs 5AM–3PM Monday to Thursday, with a $21.83/hour wage. You’ll handle setup, packaging operations, line efficiency, quality control and daily reporting on a busy production line in a growing food company.

Ideal candidates will have basic math ability, strong teamwork, and the physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds, along with a willingness to learn and follow GMP and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform basic math accurately.
• Self-motivated with strong initiative.
• Able to learn, memorize and follow production procedures.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination for precise tasks.

Responsibilities

• Maintain daily extrusion and production reports.
• Communicate production concerns to supervisor/packaging lead.
• Set up and start all required production equipment.
• Control packaging materials, codes/dates, stickers per specs.
• Monitor quality, contamination, weights and line efficiency.
• Perform basic maintenance and assist technicians.
• Adjust equipment, perform changeovers and troubleshoot.
• Carry out sanitation duties on the line.
• Complete daily production reports legibly.
• Assist in packaging control from warehouse.
• Help organize line personnel.
• Assist other lines when needed.
• Perform other duties as required.
• Assist training of line staff.
• Participate in special projects.
• Coordinate records: cleaning schedule, yields and efficiency.
• Support supervisor in controlling packaging area.
• Attend safety trainings.
• Follow safety instructions and policies.
• Report injuries or near-misses to supervisor.
• Report unsafe acts or conditions to supervisor.
• Wear site-required PPE.
• Keep work area clean and free of debris.
• Maintain sanitation schedules.
• Attend food safety trainings.
• Follow GMPs and food safety instructions.
