Job summary

Boar's Head Brand in Virginia seeks a packaging line operator responsible for packaging products in bags with correct sell-by dates and maintaining line speed. You will set up and operate the 8600 machine, follow GMP/SOP, and work as part of a team to meet production and quality standards.

Applicants should have minimal formal education; training or limited experience accepted. Must be able to lift 16 pounds repetitively and stay on pace with the line while adhering to safety policies.

Qualifications

• Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks as described and assigned by department Supervisor.
• Work in a safe manner.
• Ensure product specifications are attained.
• Carry out job assignments in a cost-conscious manner.

• Be at workstation on time each workday.

• Be flexible for various job assignments and working conditions.
• Follow Good Manufacturing Procedures, Standard Operating Procedures, plant rules and policies.
• Lift up to 16 pounds repetitively.
• Install, remove, clean and re-tape seal bars.
• Align each bag on the seal bar.
• Keep pace with the line.
• Adjust line speed for various products.
• Lubrication of 8600 may be involved.
• Start and stop the 8600 machine.
• Assist in setup and tear-down/put-away.
• Report equipment problems to Supervisor or Lead Person.
• Monitor correct and legible sell-by dated product.

• Must keep pace with the line.
• Adjusts line speed for various products.
• May be involved in lubrication of 8600.
• Starts and stops the 8600 machine.
• May be involved in set-up and tear-down/put-away.
• Responsible for bringing problems with equipment to Supervisor or Lead Person.
• Responsible for the 8600 machine.
• Responsible to monitor correct and legible sell-by dated product.
