Job summary

Asahi Beer USA / Octopi Brewing in Madison, WI, seeks a Packaging Line Manager to lead a 24-hour packaging operation, owning safety, quality, efficiency, and team development across all shifts.

You will work cross-functionally with Brewing, Lab, Maintenance, Warehouse, and QA to keep lines running smoothly and drive root-cause analysis and continuous improvement. A strong leadership track and hands-on operations experience are required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in a managerial role within manufacturing operations.
• Strong leadership, decision-making, and communication skills.
• Able to lift 55 lbs and move 165 lbs as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a 24-hour packaging team, coaching and ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Plan and oversee daily packaging operations aligned with schedules and specs.
• Diagnose equipment issues and coordinate maintenance to keep lines running.
• Own root cause analysis and data-driven process improvements across packaging lines.
• Build and maintain training systems, SOPs, and competency tracking across shifts.
• Ensure GMP, GDP, OSHA, and safety compliance through inspections and audits.
• Partner with QA on product specs and represent Packaging in cross-department planning.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We're looking for a Packaging Line Manager to lead a 24-hour packaging operation — owning safety, quality, efficiency, and team development across all shifts, and working cross-functionally with Brewing, Lab, Maintenance, and Warehouse to keep everything running smoothly.

What You'll Do

• Lead and develop a 24-hour packaging team, coaching, training, and holding the team accountable to safety, quality, and efficiency goals
• Plan and oversee daily packaging operations, keeping production aligned with schedules and specs.
• Diagnose equipment issues and coordinate maintenance to keep lines running reliably.
• Own root cause analysis and data-driven process improvement across packaging lines.
• Build and maintain training systems, SOPs, and competency tracking across all roles and shifts.
• Ensure GMP, GDP, OSHA, and safety compliance through regular inspections and audits.
• Partner with QA on product specs and quality, and represent Packaging in cross-departmental planning

Must-haves

WHAT YOU BRING

• Comprehensive understanding of machine operation, troubleshooting, and safety in a manufacturing environment
• At least 2 years of experience in a managerial role within manufacturing operations
• Exceptional leadership, decision-making, and communication skills
• Highly organized, with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
• Able to lift 55 lbs and move 165 lbs as needed

Nice-to-haves

• Bachelor's degree (Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred), or equivalent experience
• Experience in the food and beverage manufacturing sector
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and Lean Manufacturing principles
