Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Packaging Line Worker to operate packaging line equipment, perform assembly, labeling, and basic quality checks in a fast‑paced environment in Ames, IA. This contract‑to‑hire role emphasizes teamwork and adherence to safety procedures.

The position offers a consistent first shift with potential overtime, and benefits through Aerotek. Previous warehouse or production experience is valued for success in this role.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of prior warehouse or production experience.
• Operate basic production and packaging machinery safely.
• Manual dexterity and good hand‑eye coordination for packing tasks.
• Basic reading skills to understand work orders and labels.
• Basic writing skills to complete simple records.
• Basic math to count and verify quantities.
• Ability to work in a small team and follow directions.
• Willingness to work overtime based on production needs.

Responsibilities

• Operate packaging line equipment such as slitters and other production machinery safely and efficiently.
• Perform assembly tasks to prepare products for packaging.
• Label products and packaging according to specifications and standards.
• Conduct basic quality checks to ensure finished goods meet standards.
• Assist with packaging activities including boxing, bagging, sealing, and palletizing.
• Support material handling tasks including moving and organizing materials.
• Perform minor equipment set‑up and adjustments when required.
• Follow written and verbal instructions, work orders, and production schedules.
• Work in teams of 2–4 to meet production goals and maintain workflow.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and wear PPE as required.
