Job summary

Ascend Wellness Holdings is seeking a Vape Lead to support daily vape manufacturing and packaging operations in a cultivation environment. The role involves coaching Vape Associates, ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory compliance, and maintaining precise production and inventory documentation.

Work is performed in a cannabis cultivation setting with exposure to cannabis plants and related odors. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 7:30am–4:00pm, with a pay rate of $22 per hour.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED.
• 1+ year experience in a leadership role or commensurate industry experience.
• Ability to follow SOPs, batch records, and quality requirements.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate inventory levels and track vape components, oil, hardware, and finished products.
• Lead Vape Associates, coaching and training, ensuring safety and production standards.
• Support vape manufacturing and packaging activities: cartridge filling, hardware assembly, capping, testing, labeling, packaging.
• Perform quality checks throughout the process to meet SOPs and regulatory requirements and escalate issues as needed.
• Maintain production records, inventory logs, batch records, quality docs, and operational reports.
• Collaborate with Packaging leadership to improve workflows and drive efficiency.
• Provide daily updates to Packaging Manager and develop team members.

The Vape Lead assists with vape assembly, filling, testing, packaging, inventory control, and documentation while ensuring products meet established quality and compliance standards.

Work is performed in a cultivation environment with regular exposure to cannabis plants, cannabis-related odors, pollen, dust, and varying temperatures, humidity levels, and lighting conditions typical of commercial cultivation operations.

SCHEDULE: M-F 7:30am - 4pm

PAY: $22/ hour

Essential Job Functions

• Inventory Management: Verify inventory levels, distribute materials, and accurately weigh, track, document, and record vape components, oil, hardware, and finished product lots to support manufacturing and packaging operations
• Team Leadership: Hold team members accountable for assigned tasks while promoting high performance, engagement, safety, and adherence to established production, quality, and compliance standards
• Vape Manufacturing & Packaging Operations: Support daily vape production activities, including cartridge filling, hardware assembly, capping, testing, labeling, packaging, and final product preparation while ensuring efficiency and product quality
• Quality Assurance & Compliance: Perform and oversee quality checks throughout the manufacturing and packaging process to ensure products meet company specifications, SOPs, and regulatory requirements. Identify and escalation quality concerns as needed
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate production records, inventory logs, batch records, quality documentation, and operational reports while ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures
• Operational Support & Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with Packaging leadership to improve workflows, resolve operational challenges, identify process improvements, and enhance departmental efficiency
• Communication & Team Development: Serve as a liaison between team members and leadership while fostering a positive, collaborative, and productive work environment through coaching, training, and development

Other Job Responsibilities

• Coordinate team-building activities and recognize individual and group achievements
• Monitor and report team metrics related to productivity, quality, yield, and efficiency to ensure goals are met
• Maintain accurate manufacturing and packaging documentation in accordance with standard operating procedures
• Direct and delegate tasks to team members as needed to ensure all responsibilities are completed
• Assist with onboarding and training of new Vape Associates on equipment, processes, quality standards, and safety procedures.
• Continuously seek opportunities to improve team performance, product quality, and workflow efficiency
• Provide daily activity and production updates to the Packaging Manager
• Effectively manage multiple tasks and adapt to shifting priorities and deadlines
• Maintain strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail
• Ensure vape manufacturing equipment, tools, and workstations are maintained in a clean and organized condition
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Job Requirements

• Must be 21 years of age or older and be able to pass a background check
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) equivalent
• 1+ year experience in a leadership role or commensurate industry experience
• Ability to understand and follow standard operating procedures, batch records, and quality requirements
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing and production environment

Preferred Job Requirements

• 6 months to 1 year experience in cannabis manufacturing, vape production, packaging, or a related production environment
• Experience working with vape hardware, cartridge filling processes, assembly equipment, or quality control procedures
• Strong team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments
• Knowledge of cannabis regulations, inventory tracking, and production documentation requirements
• Demonstrated ability to train and develop team members while maintaining production and quality standards
