Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream, headquartered in Walnut Creek, invites driven packaging professionals to lead the technical packaging function on strategic projects that deliver Innovation & Renovation, Buy Better, and ESG initiatives. You will partner with Marketing, Manufacturing and Procurement to deliver packaging solutions while sustaining safety, quality and cost targets across our US operations.

You will manage a team, collaborate with vendors, and ensure packaging excellence from ideation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Science required.
• Experience supporting packaging, manufacturing, or product development in a food/CPG environment (frozen or dairy preferred).
• Experience with new product development or commercialization projects (packaging trials, scale-ups, first-production runs).
• Strong understanding of packaging materials, structures, and equipment for frozen products (cups, lids, wraps, cartons, multipacks, pallets).
• Knowledge of food safety, quality, regulatory requirements (GMPs, HACCP, SQF, FDA labeling, change control).
• Ability to coordinate packaging specifications, samples, and testing with R&D, Quality, Operations, Procurement, vendors.

Responsabilités

• Lead packaging team and support development strategy and annual NPD plan.
• Ensure people management activities are effective and timely.
• Collaborate with Quality and Ops to identify and prevent packaging defects; work with vendors to resolve issues.
• Work with operations and engineering to optimize packaging performance on equipment.
• Manage packaging development from ideation to industrialization; select materials and die-lines; ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Ensure packaging data inputs are timely to avoid development delays.
