PIM Brands LLC is seeking a Packaging Lead Floater for the 3rd shift (Wednesday–Sunday) at our Somerset, New Jersey facility. The role provides cross-line support, staffing coverage, and leadership for packaging operations to ensure continuous, safe production.

We are looking for a Packaging Lead Floater, 3rd shift, Wed-Sun interested in a career with a top ranked and growing snack company, to join our Production/Packaging department at PIM’s Somerset New Jersey location. This position will report to our Team Leader, Packaging.

Job Overview

The Packaging Floater (PIM – Level 3) is an advanced operator-level position responsible for providing operational support across multiple packaging lines by filling line vacancies and staffing gaps to ensure business continuity, operational efficiency, and uninterrupted production. This role requires demonstrated proficiency in multiple packaging positions and equipment operations, allowing the employee to quickly transition between assignments based on business needs.

The Packaging Floater must maintain a thorough understanding of packaging processes, operational procedures, quality requirements, GMP standards, and safety expectations. The role is expected to perform operator-level functions across a variety of packaging lines while supporting production goals, line performance, product quality, and team effectiveness.

When assigned as a Tishma Operator, the Packaging Floater serves as the designated Line Lead for the shift. In this capacity, the employee is responsible for coordinating line activities, supporting operators, monitoring line performance, facilitating communication with supervision, and ensuring production activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all company requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

Production Support

• Fill open operator positions as needed.
• Operate packaging equipment and support daily production goals.
• Assist with startups, changeovers, shutdowns, and troubleshooting.
• Communicate production or equipment issues promptly.
• Coordinate line activities and staffing.
• Monitor performance and workflow.
• Ensure compliance with safety, GMP, and operating procedures.
• Communicate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Warehouse teams.
• Escalate safety, quality, staffing, or equipment concerns.

Quality & Safety

• Follow GMPs, SOPs, and all safety requirements.
• Perform required quality checks and report issues.
• Wear required PPE and maintain a clean, safe work area.

Training & Teamwork

• Cross-train across multiple packaging positions.
• Assist with training new operators.
• Support continuous improvement and team initiatives.

Performance Expectations

• Maintain flexibility across packaging lines.
• Support safe, efficient, and uninterrupted production.
• Ensure accurate documentation and quality compliance.
• Contribute positively to productivity, teamwork, and operational performance.

Physical Demands/Essential Job Functions

Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Ability to wear required PPE and GMP-compliant attire.

Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, temperature variations, and moving equipment.

Education, Experience, and Training

High School Diploma or GED preferred.Manufacturing, warehouse, or production experience preferred.

Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.Basic math skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.

Ability to follow standard operating procedures and work instructions.

Reliable attendance and dependability.
