Job summary

Essential Employment Services is hiring a Packaging and Inventory Manager in Massachusetts to oversee post‑harvest operations, packaging, and distribution of cannabis products, while ensuring compliance with state regulations. Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of production staff including manufacturers, packagers, and quality control personnel.
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure efficient and high-quality production.
  • Implement and maintain rigorous quality control procedures to ensure consistency, appearance, and quality of products.
  • Conduct regular inspections and address discrepancies or issues promptly.
  • Ensure team members follow established procedures for packaging and production.
  • Ensure strict adherence to state and local regulations governing post‑harvest operations.
  • Oversee equipment maintenance and coordinate repairs as needed.
  • Oversee distribution of products to retail locations and third parties, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
  • Manage the entire inventory from seed to post‑harvest, ensuring accurate record‑keeping and traceability.
  • Maintain SOPs for all operations and ensure proper review and communication with team members.
  • Utilize cultivation software (Dutchie and Metrc) to track and manage inventory data.
  • Generate reports and analytics to provide insights into inventory performance and trends.

What You Do:

The Packaging and Inventory Manager oversees all post‑harvest production operations, ensuring the efficient processing, packaging, and distribution of cannabis products while maintaining strict compliance with state regulations. You lead and develop production teams, implement quality control standards, and manage inventory from seed to sale with a strong focus on accuracy and traceability. You collaborate cross‑functionally to optimize workflows, maintain SOPs, and drive continuous improvements in efficiency, consistency, and overall operational performance.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a team of production staff, including manufacturers, packagers, and quality control personnel.
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to ensure efficient and high-quality production.
  • Implement and maintain rigorous quality control procedures to ensure consistency, appearance, and quality of products.
  • Conduct regular inspections and address discrepancies or issues promptly.
  • Ensure team members follow established procedures for packaging and production.
  • Ensure strict adherence to state and local regulations governing post‑harvest operations.
  • Participate in regulatory audits and inspections, providing necessary documentation.
  • Oversee equipment maintenance and coordinate repairs as needed.
  • Oversee distribution of products to retail locations and third parties, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
  • Manage the entire inventory from seed to post‑harvest, ensuring accurate record‑keeping and traceability.
  • Ensure package creation is done efficiently, accurately, and timely.
  • Implement and maintain systems for tracking plant growth stages, quantities, and data.
  • Monitor and report on inventory levels, identifying discrepancies and resolving issues promptly.
  • Maintain SOPs for all operations and ensure proper review and communication with team members.
  • Utilize cultivation software (Dutchie and Metrc) to track and manage inventory data.
  • Maintain electronic records reflecting real‑time inventory and plant status.
  • Generate reports and analytics to provide insights into inventory performance and trends.
  • Resolve issues in data management systems to ensure compliance.
  • Stay up to date with regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Ensure all cultivation and inventory practices adhere to regulations.
  • Collaborate with cultivation, production, and compliance teams to optimize processes.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate tasks.
  • Foster a work environment focused on morale and teamwork.
  • Implement communication methods for team coordination.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements.
  • Implement best practices to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and productivity.

Education and Qualifications:
