Reiser is seeking a Field Service Technician to install, maintain and repair food packaging equipment across the US. You will travel extensively, interact with customers on-site, read technical diagrams, and troubleshoot to restore systems to specification.

This role demands strong electro-mechanical skills and daily collaboration with the sales and service teams. The position requires 80% travel, working primarily via automobile or plane, with initial emphasis on serving food plants nationwide.

Qualifications

• Three plus years of experience in equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, servicing and repair of electro-mechanical machinery.
• Practical application of mechanical and electrical engineering principles to ensure equipment performance.
• Basic knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, conveyor or control systems.
• Ability to read technical diagrams and schematics.
• Willingness to travel 80% and live within 1.5-hour commute of major airports.

About The Role

As part of our dynamic, growth-driven team, we’re seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to install new equipment and perform maintenance and repair services for our customers. This role combines travel, technical expertise, and direct customer interaction, giving you the chance to help ensure Reiser’s equipment performs at its best, making a real difference in our customers' businesses. Candidates should live within a 1.5-hour commute of any major airport for easy access to our customers.

What You’ll Do

• Travel 80% (during the week) away from home visiting food plants. You will spend approximately the majority of your time throughout the US for the first 1-2 years and then will be focused on helping support assigned sales region while supporting the overall sales effort of Reiser.
• Read diagrams, schematic drawings, engineering specifications and service manuals to determine work procedures.
• Engage with customers on site, analyze equipment performance, troubleshoot to isolate problems, and determine actions needed to restore system to performance specifications.
• Share information with team members, customers, and your supervisor to help prioritize and keep customers apprised of corrective actions and equipment status.
• Inform customers of routine preventive maintenance techniques.
• Participate as necessary in new projects to install or improve the safety and performance of existing and new equipment.

Qualifications

What You Bring

• Three plus years of experience in equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, servicing, troubleshooting and repair of electro-mechanical machinery.
• Practical application of mechanical and electrical engineering principles and techniques to ensure equipment performance at manufacturers specifications.
• Basic knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic power systems, conveyor systems, or control systems.
• Initiative, critical thinking, complex problem solving, judgement and decision making, persistence, attention to detail, adaptability, flexibility, concern for others and leadership.
• Ability to read technical diagrams and schematics.
• 80% travel during the week – mostly by automobile or plane
• Food Packaging Machinery experience is desired.
• Bilingual English - Spanish skills are a bonus.
