Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing, production, packaging, or machine operation preferred.
• Ability to learn and operate production equipment safely and consistently.
• Ability to follow standard operating procedures and comply with industry regulations.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time and work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate packaging equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain consistent machine operation.
• Monitor equipment during operations and make basic adjustments as needed.
• Monitor product flow, weights, fills, and overall equipment performance.
• Escalate issues or out-of-spec conditions to supervisors for timely resolution.
• Follow all established SOPs, work instructions, safety procedures, and quality standards.
• Identify and communicate equipment issues, inconsistencies, or abnormalities in a timely manner.
• Perform routine cleaning of equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow all required PPE and safety requirements.
• Meet established production and quality expectations.
• Assist with equipment setup and changeovers as needed.
• Support routine equipment inspections and preventative maintenance as directed.
• Support other areas and departments as needed.

About the Role

The Packaging Equipment Technician 1 is responsible for supporting safe, efficient, and reliable packaging operations through the operation, monitoring, and basic maintenance of automated packaging equipment. This role supports daily packaging activities by ensuring machinery operates consistently, work areas remain clean and organized, and all processes comply with company SOPs, safety standards, and applicable state regulations.

The Packaging Equipment Technician 1 will monitor equipment and product flow, make basic adjustments as needed, identify and communicate equipment issues, and assist with equipment setup, cleaning, and routine maintenance. This position requires strong attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.

• Ability to learn and operate production equipment safely and consistently.
• Ability to follow standard operating procedures and comply with industry regulations.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to focus on complex and sensitive processes.
• Flexibility and adaptability in response to changing production needs.
• Ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and respectfully with peers, leadership, Facilities, and other departments.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time and walk throughout the work area.
• Ability to reach with hands and arms.
• Ability to consistently lift 10–20 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work seated and standing for extended periods of time on concrete floors.
• Ability to maintain body equilibrium while climbing ladders and stairways.
• Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and use hands to hold, grasp, turn, pick, and pinch to complete tasks.
