Job summary

The J.R. Simplot Company in Boise, Idaho, seeks a Packaging Operator to oversee operation, sanitation, troubleshooting, and repair of packaging equipment from the distribution deck to the track.

This role will break, cover vacancies, and train employees in all Packaging Operator positions to ensure packaging goals and customer requirements are met. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and 3+ years of related experience or training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3+ years related experience or training.
• Able to read, understand, communicate, and perform basic math.
• Must be able to work in confined spaces.
• Must have basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safety, quality, food safety, sanitation and GMPs.
• Provide troubleshooting, repair and support on packaging equipment and related systems.
• Operate and monitor equipment in the assigned area.
• Diagnose machine malfunctions by listening and observing.
• Perform quality checks and sampling.
• Perform changeovers on packaging equipment.
• Create work orders for downtime or repairs.
• Assist training of plant personnel.
• Keep packaging area sanitary and organized.
• Ensure packaging materials are readily available.
