Job summary

Simplot GF Plant – Othello, WA is seeking a Packaging Operator to operate, troubleshoot and maintain Line 1–3 packaging equipment while leading the packaging team with the Packaging Supervisor and Area Coordinators.

The role requires a High School Diploma, strong leadership, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work overtime, and navigate fast‑paced production environments. Benefits include medical/dental/vision coverage, 401(k), holidays, vacation, and education assistance.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, understand, and communicate effectively.
• Must be able to perform basic math functions.
• Must be able to perform basic computer skills (turn computer on, use a mouse, save a document, and open a file or program).
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs in a safe and proper manner.
• Must be able to use up to 50 pounds of push/pull force needed to push/pull barrels weighing up to 450 lbs using a rolling device.
• Must be able to stand on concrete floors for long periods of time.
• Must be able to work in extreme environments: hot or cold temperatures and wet and slick floors.
• Must be able to work with and around hazardous chemicals wearing appropriate PPE, includes but not limited to, full wetsuit, boots, chemical gloves and face shield or goggles.

Responsibilities

• Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain packaging equipment on Lines 1–3.
• Print tickets and manage pallets and product movement.
• Maintain production records and sanitation of the work area.
• Lead the packaging team with supervision and coordinators to achieve goals.
