Job summary

Promega Corporation is seeking a Packaging Engineer to lead design and development of packaging solutions from concept through production. You will partner with R&D, Marketing, and Operations to create innovative packaging, own material specifications, and ensure compliance with regulatory and quality standards.

The role involves testing, process improvement, cost reduction, and occasional travel to vendor sites to audit production and validate packaging performance.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Packaging Engineering or equivalent.
• 4–8 years packaging experience in a manufacturing environment in biotech/pharma/diagnostics/OTC/food or beverage.
• Strong interpersonal, relationship and communication skills.
• Computer skills including MS Office, SolidWorks, CAD; statistical software experience desired.
• Experience with automated packaging equipment, materials, components, performance evaluations, distribution testing and design control.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and design of advanced packaging solutions for new and existing products.
• Collaborate with R&D, Marketing, and Operations to design solutions and develop material specs.
• Own and validate packaging material specifications and performance criteria.
• Conduct ISTA/ ASTM distribution challenge tests and audits of vendor facilities.
• Drive cost reduction and sustainability initiatives while maintaining quality.
