Job summary

Melaleuca Inc. in Idaho Falls, Idaho, is seeking a Packaging Engineer with 3+ years of consumer products packaging experience for a broad, hands-on role.

You’ll join a small Packaging team working across food, nutrition, dietary supplements, personal care, and other products, from concept through production, with opportunities to influence materials, formats, testing, and supplier partnerships. Relocation assistance is available and the onsite role places you at Melaleuca’s Global Headquarters

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging, Packaging Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of professional packaging experience in consumer products.
• Hands-on experience developing, testing, qualifying, or troubleshooting packaging.
• Strong analytical and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and qualify packaging solutions for new and existing products in food, nutrition, and supplements.
• Recommend packaging materials and configurations based on product needs and costs.
• Collaborate with R&D, Marketing, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, and suppliers to move packaging from development to commercialization.
• Plan and support packaging testing, line trials, qualifications, and troubleshooting.
• Develop and maintain packaging specifications and evaluate components and drawings.
• Conduct packaging studies including compatibility, functionality, and weight-loss testing.
• Work with suppliers to evaluate new materials and prototypes.
• Serve as packaging SME on cross-functional product development teams for domestic and international products.
