Job summary

Melaleuca, the Wellness Company, is seeking a Packaging Engineer with 3+ years of consumer packaging experience at its Global Headquarters in Idaho Falls, Idaho. This onsite role spans the full packaging lifecycle from concept to production, focusing on food, nutrition, and dietary supplement products.

You will collaborate with R&D, Marketing, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, and suppliers to select materials, run tests, qualify processes, and troubleshoot.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Packaging or related technical field.
• 3+ years of professional packaging experience in consumer products.
• Hands-on experience developing, testing, qualifying, or troubleshooting packaging.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work across technical, manufacturing, commercial and supplier teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with high ownership.

Responsibilities

• Develop and qualify packaging solutions for products in food, nutrition, and dietary supplements.
• Recommend materials and configurations based on requirements, performance, cost, and consumer needs.
• Collaborate with R&D, Marketing, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, and suppliers to move packaging from development to commercialization.
• Plan and support packaging testing, line trials, qualifications, and troubleshooting.
• Develop and maintain packaging specifications and evaluate components and drawings.
• Conduct and document packaging studies including compatibility, functionality, dimensional and weight-loss testing.
• Work with suppliers to evaluate new materials and prototypes.
• Serve as packaging SME on cross-functional teams for domestic and international products.
