Job summary

The Pivot Group Network is seeking a Packaging Engineer for Newaygo, MI. This role focuses on designing and testing packaging solutions for new and existing products within a manufacturing setting.

You will collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, marketing, and supply chain to define requirements, select materials, ensure regulatory compliance, and optimize designs for cost, manufacturability, and damage prevention across the supply chain.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years packaging development experience in manufacturing.
• Proficient in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for packaging design.
• Experience with packaging materials and processes (corrugated, plastics, films, automation).
• Solid understanding of packaging regulations and standards (ISTA, ASTM).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test packaging solutions for products.
• Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, marketing, and supply chain to define requirements.
• Evaluate materials and technologies for cost, performance, and regulatory compliance.
• Optimize designs for manufacturability and damage prevention across the supply chain.
• Develop and maintain packaging specs, test methods, and QC procedures.
• Conduct root cause analysis for packaging issues; implement corrective actions.
• Stay updated on industry trends and new materials for innovation.
