Job summary

AUMOVIO in Texas is seeking a Packaging Engineer to design and develop packaging materials, solutions and processes that meet product and marketing requirements and manufacturing capabilities.

You will drive supplier packaging approvals, improve packaging designs for cost, quality and density, and coordinate with SAP and other systems, while ensuring compliance and safety.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or related field.
  • Good communication skills: verbal, written and presentations.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
  • Relocation assistance is not offered for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop packaging materials, solutions and processes to meet product and marketing requirements, customer needs and manufacturing capabilities.
  • Responsible for all approvals and improvements of supplier packaging during SCR.
  • Responsible for all approvals and improvements of Customer packaging during NPL.
  • Drive continuous improvement on packaging designs (cost, quality, density, stack ability) and standardization on customer & supplier side.
  • Standardization of sizes & variants of all packaging materials (cardboard, totes, pallets, etc.).
  • Planning and review of total cost of packaging material (budget planning)
  • Key contact and support for all topics regarding packaging for plant NBT
  • Entry point for packaging topics for BA, NPM PUR & SCMA
  • Supplier management of packaging suppliers
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships across the supply chain
  • Effectively communicate across a wide variety of internal and external customers – crisp, clear, continuous communication
  • Systems – utilize and maintain systems (SAP, Supply On, Customer portals, etc.)
  • Maintain awareness of trends and technologies at the forefront of packaging.
  • Additional mechanical design work as necessary
  • Maintains a safe work environment, Maintains professional attire, Continually focuses on departmental effectiveness and improvement opportunities, Effectively communicates with team members, suppliers and multiple levels of management,
  • Maintains the highest level of integrity and treats associates fairly & equitably, Leads by example.
  • Ensure individual and team compliance to established policies and procedures
  • Employ various problem-solving techniques (5 Why, etc.) to drive supply chain issues to permanent corrective action
  • Develop and follow Standard Work practices

Job Description

Core Responsibilities
  • Design and develop packaging materials, solutions and processes to meet product and marketing requirements, customer needs and manufacturing capabilities.
  • Responsible for all approvals and improvements of supplier packaging during SCR
  • Responsible for all approvals and improvements of Customer packaging during NPL
  • Drive continuous improvement on packaging designs (cost, quality, density, stack ability) and standardization on customer & supplier side
