Overview

Responsibilities
Initiate and manage all projects independently and provide oversight and direction for team projects.
Prepare financial support data for all packaging projects, including preparation of Capital Appropriation Requests (CARs).
Establish the total packaging environment inclusive of primary, secondary, tertiary, and all associated packaging equipment.
Interact with all levels and disciplines of management, technical staff, hourly employees, and personnel at other divisions requesting package engineering services.
Perform analytical testing to assure functional packaging.
Apply knowledge of plastics, paper board products, adhesives, production needs (both mechanical and people), printing inks, efficiency methods, shipping requirements (including Hazardous materials, DOT, UN and TSCA labeling requirements), closures, Quality Assurance practices, GMP procedures, ASTM standards, test procedures, and some Industrial Engineering principles.
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of packaging materials and processes as described above (plastics, paper board, adhesives, printing inks, closures).
Understanding of GMP, QA practices, ASTM standards, and test procedures.
Ability to prepare financial documentation for packaging projects, including CARs and related capital requests.
Effective communication skills to work with management, technical staff, hourly employees, and cross-divisional teams.
