Job summary

UST in Chattanooga, TN is seeking an experienced Packaging Engineer to lead packaging development, validation activities and change control for consumer products in the pharma space.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years of packaging experience, a BS in Packaging Engineering (or equivalent), and strong collaboration with R&D, Operations and suppliers to ensure robust packaging specifications, testing and documentation with GMP compliance.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Packaging Engineering or equivalent.
• 5–7 years packaging experience.
• Experience with FDA/GMP and cosmetics packaging preferred.
• Experience writing technical justifications and change controls.

Responsibilities

• Act as primary packaging contact with internal teams, suppliers and contract manufacturers.
• Develop documentation for NPD such as Development Plan, APR statements and technical memos.
• Serve as Packaging representative on cross-functional teams for specification changes.
• Coordinate validation plans with R&D and Operations for packaging updates.

Packaging Engineer (Chattanooga, TN) - Leading Global Consumer Products Pharma company

One of the world’s most respected and leading global Consumer Product companies, located in Chattanooga, TN has an immediate need for an experienced Consumer Product Packaging Engineer:

Preferred Experience:

• Skin Care, Cosmetics, FDA / GMP experience preferred
• Packaging Validation
• Line Trial experience
• Packaging Specification development, review and implementation
• Working closely with Packaging Suppliers
• Manage Cost Improvement initiatives
• Conduct and manage Packaging Testing
• Initiation and Review of Change Control documentation;
• Writing Technical Justifications
• Must work closely as part of cross-functional team
• External Manufacturing experience preferred.

Support and Coordinate Packaging Activities:

• Primary Packaging contact with all relevant internal parties and Suppliers and Contract Manufacturing Sites
• Develop and provide necessary documentation for NDP such as Development Plan, Technical Review forum, APR statements, technical memos, etc…
• Serve as Packaging Representative on cross functional teams to plan and coordinate all package engineering related functions related to specification changes
• Work with R&D and Ops to develop any technical validation plans required to initiate specification updates.

5 – 7 years professional experience.

BS Degree in Packaging Engineering (or equivalent) is preferred.
