Job summary

Sira Consulting is seeking a packaging lead to drive end-to-end engineered packaging projects for Vehicle and Energy platforms. You will collaborate with Design, Manufacturing, NPI, and Operations to define requirements and deliver robust packaging solutions.

You will guide development of protective packaging, dunnage, and racks for domestic and international needs, applying CAD and GD&T principles. Strong materials knowledge and testing focus are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required with evidence of exceptional ability.
• Familiarity with CAD and technical drawings, including datum structure, GD&T and tolerance stack up analysis.
• Experience with machining, welding, injection molding, and other manufacturing processes.
• Strong material knowledge across aluminum, steel, composites, foam, etc., and design to ASTM or Mil-Spec standards.
• Packaging testing and validation experience; ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end engineered packaging projects for Vehicle and Energy platforms.

• Partner with Supply Chain and Logistics to enable efficient delivery of parts without sacrificing quality.
• Provide design direction and development plans of packaging containers, dunnage and shipping racks – domestic and international.
• Monitor KPIs and work with Packaging Design Engineers to improve packaging standards.
• Drive expendable to returnable projects; manage budgets, risks, and change management; assist in vendor selection and vendor management.

• Lead end-to-end engineered packaging projects for Vehicle and Energy platforms
• Interface with Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, New Product Introduction, and Operations partners to gather and develop packaging requirements
• Partner with Supply Chain and Logistics to drive projects to enable the most efficient delivery of parts possible without sacrificing part quality or manufacturability
• Provide design direction and development plans of protective packaging containers, dunnage and unique shipping racks – domestic and international
• Apply industrial design techniques of CAD, technical drawings, including datum structure, GD&T and tolerance stack up analysis
• Monitor KPI’s and work with Packaging Design Engineers to develop world‑class packaging standards and continue to improve upon them
• Drive expendable to returnable projects and participate in sustainability initiatives; Manage project budgets, risks, and change management; Assist in vendor selection and vendor management

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Packaging, Industrial Design, or equivalent work experience with evidence of exceptional ability
• Working knowledge of CAD, and technical drawings, including datum structure, GD&T and tolerance stack up analysis

• Strong knowledge in a large variety of materials (aluminum, steel, composites, foam, etc.); Experience with designing to standards such as ASTM, Mil-Spec, etc.
