Job summary

Atrium Staffing LLC is seeking a Packaging Designer Assistant to support packaging and display designs from concept to press-ready files. You will collaborate with Design and Marketing teams to ensure brand consistency and showcase products for major national brands in a fast-paced setting.

The role requires strong Adobe Creative Suite skills, a Bachelor's degree in Graphic/Packaging Design, and at least 2 years in packaging design with experience on RFP mechanicals and photo retouching.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in packaging design and POS displays.
• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design or Packaging Design.
• Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.
• Experience creating ready-for-press mechanicals, photography knowledge, and retouching skills.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve problems.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Packaging Designer and Corporate Creative Services to develop design strategies across print and digital platforms.
• Support Marketing with creative insights and recommendations on various projects.
• Manage time efficiently to deliver high-quality work within deadlines.
• Produce and finalize packaging and display mechanicals to ready-for-press standards.
• Build mock-up packaging to test dimensions and prepare physical samples for meetings.
• Assist in photo shoots to ensure alignment with design objectives.
• Partner with Packaging Developers and Production Artists to maintain design integrity.
• Retouch images for packaging and display materials as needed.
• Use Airtable to track projects through the go-to-market packaging process.
• Collaborate across cross-functional teams to advance shared business goals.

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$26/hr - $32/hr

Position Overview:

The Packaging Designer Assistant supports the creation and execution of packaging and display designs from concept through to press-ready files. This role collaborates closely with Design and Marketing teams to ensure brand consistency and effective product presentation. It offers hands-on experience with major national brands in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting.

• Strong creative, conceptual, and organizational design skills, with the ability to execute from concept to completion.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Expert-level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office.
• Experience creating ready-for-press (RFP) mechanicals, photography knowledge, and photo retouching skills.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve problems.

Preferred Experience/Skills for the Packaging Designer Assistant:

• Knowledge of packaging production processes and materials.
• Experience with licensed branding and interpreting brand style guides for product extensions is a plus.
• Familiarity with Airtable or other project tracking/product management software such as PLM is a plus.
• Experience working with national retail brands.
• Strong communication skills for cross-team collaboration.
• Ability to adapt designs to meet cost targets and brand standards.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Packaging Design, or a related field is required.
