Job Title: Packaging Designer
Position Overview
Seeking a creative, versatile, and detail-oriented Packaging Designer to develop packaging across a diverse portfolio of hard goods, including consumer electronics, toys, accessories, and more.
Working closely with the Creative Director, the Packaging Designer will take ideas from initial concept through final production. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on designer who enjoys variety, takes ownership of projects, and is looking for a long-term role with significant room for professional growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Design compelling, retail-ready packaging across a wide range of product categories.
- Partner with the Creative Director to translate creative concepts and business objectives into effective packaging solutions.
- Manage projects from initial concept and design exploration through production-ready artwork.
- Develop packaging systems, layouts, graphics, typography, color palettes, and product storytelling.
- Create dieline-based artwork, mockups, presentations, and production files.
- Ensure packaging communicates product features and benefits clearly while maintaining strong shelf presence.
- Adapt designs across multiple products, formats, sizes, and retailer requirements.
- Collaborate with product development, marketing, sales, sourcing, and production partners.
- Review proofs and samples, identify production issues, and make necessary revisions.
- Maintain accuracy across copy, specifications, barcodes, legal requirements, and other packaging details.
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Stay current on packaging, retail, consumer-product, and visual design trends.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Packaging Design, Communication Design, or a related field.
- 3+ years of relevant packaging or graphic design experience.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating packaging design, ideally for consumer products or hard goods.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
- Strong knowledge of typography, layout, color, branding, and print production.
- Experience working with dielines and preparing accurate, production-ready files.
- Ability to carry projects from concept through final execution.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to take ownership of projects.
Salary $70,000-$95,000
