Green Bay Packaging Inc. is seeking a Packaging Designer to create innovative packaging solutions that improve performance and reduce costs. You will collaborate with customers, sales, operations, and suppliers to test and implement designs while driving continuous improvement.

The role emphasizes CAD capabilities, 3D visualization, and cross-functional teamwork. A strong design background and effective communication are essential for success in this onsite Wisconsin position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Packaging, Mechanical Design, Architectural Design, or Prototype & Design.
• Strong verbal, written, and electronic communication skills, with the ability to work closely with internal and external customers.
• Proficiency with CAD/table and Microsoft Office; familiarity with Artios CAD, Cape Pack,Adobe Creative Suite, and TOPPS.
• Familiarity with paperboard stocks, board grades, corrugation, and printing processes.
• Experience operating sample cutting tables.
• Ability to visualize concepts in 3D.
• Detail-oriented and able to work independently or in a team.
• Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new packaging and revise existing packaging, focusing on cost reduction and performance enhancements.
• Produce samples and small production runs of prototypes using the CAD table for testing, including writing and transmitting specifications.
• Enhance existing packaging with innovative solutions, including customer site visits and packaging audits at their locations.
• Coordinate with tooling suppliers to ensure quality and efficiency.
• Travel with sales representatives to customer locations when necessary.
• Build strong internal relationships to support and ensure efficient and accurate responses to customers, sales, and operations departments.

Description

Overview

The Packaging Designer is responsible for designing and developing innovative packaging solutions that improve product performance, reduce costs, and meet customer requirements. This role works closely with customers, sales, operations, and suppliers to create, test, and implement effective packaging designs while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

Design and develop new packaging as well as revise existing packaging, focusing on cost reduction and performance enhancements.

• Produce samples and small production runs of prototypes using the CAD table for testing purposes, including writing and transmitting specifications as needed.

Enhance existing packaging with innovative solutions, which will involve conducting customer site visits and performing packaging audits at their locations.

Coordinate with tooling suppliers to ensure quality and efficiency.

• Travel with sales representatives to customer locations when necessary.
• Build strong internal relationships to support and ensure efficient and accurate responses to customers, sales, and operations departments.

Qualifications

• In-depth working knowledge of Microsoft Office and its applications, CAD, Artios CAD, Cape Pack, Adobe Creative Suite, and/or TOPPS, as well as familiarity with CAD tables.
• Familiarity with various paperboard stocks, board grade combinations, corrugation, and printing processes.
• Experience operating sample cutting tables.
• Strong cognitive and mathematical skills
• Demonstrated ability to visualize concepts in 3D
• Detail-oriented, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
