Viking Masek Packaging Technologies seeks an Automation Engineer - Packaging to lead design and lifecycle performance of secondary packaging machinery, including cartoning machines, robotic case packers, and robotic palletizing systems.

This role combines engineering expertise, innovation, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver high-performance, modular, manufacturable, and scalable automation solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, software, or related engineering field or equivalent experience.
• Strong communication skills to present designs to teams.
• Experience negotiating contracts and customer specifications.
• Proficient with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, PDM, and MS Office.
• Innovative and curiosity-driven problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize secondary packaging equipment using CAD and simulations.
• Collaborate with Controls and Electrical Engineering for robotics and vision systems.
• Lead engineering scope from concept through implementation with cross-functional teams.
• Maintain documentation, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, support design reviews.
• Drive continuous improvements in machine performance and manufacturability.
