Job summary

Hallmark Cards, Inc. in Leavenworth, KS is seeking a Packaging Specialist for first shift (7:30am - 4:00pm).

You will unload and handle cards and packages, assist in production of envelopes, and set up label machines, while ensuring quality and safety standards are met. The role emphasizes performing multiple tasks across departments, maintaining production flow, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the team.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to grasp, lift and carry product weighing up to 30 lbs frequently and 60 lbs occasionally.
• Ability to stand and walk approximately 95% of the time.
• Ability to reach, twist, bend, use repetitive hand/wrist motion and perform fine motor skills approximately 95% of the time.
• Ability to frequently work at or above shoulder level.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
• Good math, written and oral communication skills (from preferred qualifications).
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent (from preferred qualifications).

Responsibilities

• Assist with all aspects of the different assignments with a focus on cross-training between departments.
• Assist the operator with maintaining specified production, such as throughput, OEE, etc., by placing cards/stock onto flat skid or in carton boxes or pack wholesale unit into cartons.
• Feed envelope blanks, pack envelopes into cartons, stack cartons on a pallet and maintain specified production.
• Execute Quality System including preflight, checking products for accuracy, sampling plan, and the removal of salvage/spoilage by using a guide, shop sample or other approved methods.
• Utilize good safety practices.
