Job summary

Advanced Web Technologies, Inc. is seeking a hands-on packaging associate in Minneapolis, MN. This role focuses on hand packing, labeling, and preparing products for shipment, with emphasis on accuracy and neat presentation.

• Make box labels and neatly apply to cases.
• Ensure packaged product is neat and clean.
• Product is appropriately protected when placed in container.
• Container identifications are appropriate and accurate.
• Spec and order requirements read and understood.
• Jobs are being processed per the report priorities to ensure they ship on time.
• Prepares accurate summary of packaging activities and forwards checklist to shipping in the job ticket.
• Cleans and organizes rolls or stacked product.
• Interface with day-to-day department process management and be aware of workload and performance.
• Participate in quality improvement to ensure customer satisfaction and that all jobs meet or exceed estimated times.
• Follow all documented ISO 9001 procedures.

General Description of Job

Hand packing of product and preparation of product for shipment.

Primary Tasks and Responsibilities (Note, activities that occupy approx. 80% of time):

• check to ensure that core labels and box labels are correct;
• make box labels and neatly apply to cases;
• ensure packaged product is neat and clean;
• product is appropriately protected when placed in container;
• container identifications are appropriate and accurate;
• spec and order requirements read and understood;
• jobs are being processed per the report priorities as specified to ensure they ship on time;
• prepares accurate summary of packaging activities and ensures that checklist is forwarded to shipping in job ticket;
• cleans and organizes rolls or stacked product;

Secondary Tasks and Responsibilities (Occupies balance of time):

• be actively involved and interface with day-to-day department process management and be aware of department workload, activities and performance;
• participate in quality improvement initiative to ensure customer satisfaction and that all jobs meet or exceed estimated times;
• follow all documented ISO 9001 procedures.

Requirements

Physical Job Demands:

Requires substantial twisting and bending, a great deal of walking, able to stand for long periods of time, must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. to waist level without assistance.

Skills/Abilities to Meet Job Requirements:

Must take directions and work well with others as well as alone. Positive attitude and a team player; safety conscious; must be able to read, understand and write the English language.

Education and Experience Requirement:

High School - OR Equivalent GED.
