Job summary

Solvay is seeking a Silica Packager in Chicago Heights, IL. The role covers three assignments: bagging system, super-sack filling, and bulk loading, contributing to the silica family and Solvay's transformation journey.

You will be responsible for changeovers, parameter adjustments, minor mechanical work, and preventive maintenance, with a 7-day on-site swing shift. High school diploma or GED required.

• Must be able to recalibrate and reset scales, as needed.

• Performs minor preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.

About the role

Our Materials department, composed of over 50 people, is focused on delivering safety and reliability, and regulatory compliance for our operations site.

As a Silica Packager, this position will consist of three different assignments: the bagging system, the super-sack filling, and bulk loading. You will get the opportunity to contribute to the growing Silica family and have a positive impact on the transformation journey of Solvay.

You will be accountable for:

• Changeover/Shutdown of Automatic Bagging System (Bagging system assignment) as well as empty and purge product from the bagging system.

We offer at-will empolyment based on on-site working mode with a 7-day swing shift schedule.

About the pay

Attractive and equitable pay for all: compensation is determined within a range to foster your development in the role. While the USA base pay reasonably expected for this role is $35.00 to $36.82 per hour, your salary may ultimately be higher or lower based on your skills and experience.
