Job summary

Solvay is seeking a Silica Packager for our on-site operations. This role covers three assignments: bagging system, super-sack filling, and bulk loading, with responsibilities including changeover/shutdown, parameter adjustments, and routine maintenance.

You will contribute to Solvay’s silica family and its transformation journey, while supporting safety and reliability in our operations. Ideal candidates will work a 7-day swing schedule, be willing to shift or overtime, and hold a high school

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be able to monitor operation of all equipment.
• Must be willing to work shift work and overtime.
• Ability to recalibrate and reset scales as needed.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage Changeover/Shutdown of Automatic Bagging System and handle bagging system assignments.
• Adjust system parameters (fill rate, bag weights) to maintain quality and productivity.
• Perform minor mechanical work to change over bag/product or during shutdown procedures.
• Conduct minor preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

As a Silica Packager, this position will consist of three different assignments: the bagging system, the super-sack filling, and bulk loading.
