Quaker Houghton in Batavia, NY is hiring a Packager I to support the production of their grease products. The role involves filling, packaging and palletizing, following written specs and safe work practices. The position is on second shift (3pm–11:30pm).

Pay rate starts at $20.50 per hour with company training and benefits. The Packager I will read fill sheets, set up equipment, label containers, and operate production controls while ensuring quality and safety.

Qualifications

• Must be able to speak, read and write English fluently.
• Requires strong basic math skills.
• Candidate must be comfortable in a factory environment with standing, walking and lifting for long periods.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds and palletize 400 pound drums.

Responsibilities

• Read fill sheets and perform work as assigned by production supervisor.
• Set up filling equipment, scales and containers at production points.
• Label or stencil containers as specified.
• Operate valves and controls on production equipment.
• Follow customer specifications on work orders and fill finished product into packaging units.
• Notify supervisor of safety, equipment, or quality issues.
• Maintain a clean and safe workplace.
• Be available to work in all production areas.

Located in Batavia, NY is currently seeking a Packager 1 to add to their growing team. The Packager 1 will perform tasks involved in the production of Quaker Houghton products. This includes filling, packaging and palletizing grease according to written specifications. All Packagers must follow standard work methods and practice safe work habits to ensure production is efficient and safe.

New pay increase: $20.50

2nd Shift: 3p - 1130p

What will you do?

• Read fill sheets and performs work as assigned by production supervisor.
• Sets up filling equipment, scales and containers at various production points.
• Labels or stencils containers as specified.
• Operates valves and other controls on production equipment.
• Follows through with customer specifications on work orders, filling finished product into various packaging units.
• Notifies supervisor of any safety, mechanical or product quality related issues.
• Maintains a clean and safe workplace.
• Performs other related duties and assignments as required.
• All production workers are expected to be available to work in all areas of production.

• Advanced education or skilled training preferred. Must be able to speak, read and write English fluently.

• Candidate must be comfortable working in a factory environment which could involve standing, walking and lifting for long periods of time throughout the day. Must be able to lift 50 pound containers and palletize 400 pound drums. The environment in the factory can reach extreme heat in the summer.

In accordance with applicable pay transparency requirements, the expected pay rate for this position is $20.50. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, geographic location, and other job-related factors as permitted by law.
