Job summary

Quaker Houghton in Batavia, NY is seeking a Packager I to join the production team. You will fill, package and palletize grease according to written specifications, following standard work methods and safety practices to keep production efficient and safe.

This is a 2nd shift position (3p–11:30p) with a pay rate of $20.50 per hour, plus benefits, sign-on bonus and opportunities for overtime. You must read fill sheets, set up equipment, label containers and ensure customer specs are met.

Qualifications

• Must be able to speak, read and write English fluently.
• Requires strong basic math skills. Must be able to work as part of a team.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds and palletize heavy drums.

Responsibilities

• Read fill sheets and perform work as assigned by production supervisor.
• Set up filling equipment, scales and containers at various production points.
• Label or stencil containers as specified.
• Operate valves and other controls on production equipment.
• Follow through with customer specifications on work orders and fill finished product into packaging units.
• Notify supervisor of safety, mechanical or product quality issues.
• Maintain a clean and safe workplace.
• Perform other related duties as required.
• All production workers are expected to be available to work in all areas of production.

Located in Batavia, NY is currently seeking a Packager 1 to add to their growing team. The Packager 1 will perform tasks involved in the production of Quaker Houghton products. This includes filling, packaging and palletizing grease according to written specifications. All Packagers must follow standard work methods and practice safe work habits to ensure production is efficient and safe.

New pay increase: $20.50

2nd Shift: 3p - 1130p

What will you do?

• Read fill sheets and performs work as assigned by production supervisor.

• Sets up filling equipment, scales and containers at various production points.

What do we look for?

• Advanced education or skilled training preferred. Must be able to speak, read and write English fluently.

• Requires strong basic math skills. Must be able to work as part of a team.

• Candidate must be comfortable working in a factory environment which could involve standing, walking and lifting for long periods of time throughout the day. Must be able to lift 50 pound containers and palletize 400 pound drums. The environment in the factory can reach extreme heat in the summer.

In accordance with applicable pay transparency requirements, the expected pay rate for this position is $20.50. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, geographic location, and other job-related factors as permitted by law.
