Job summary

Monroechamber is seeking a Packer to join the production line. You will package products, verify quality, and keep the line running smoothly to ensure timely shipping. The role emphasizes teamwork, attention to detail, and adherence to safety protocols across shifts.

Qualifications

  • TABE testing requirements met at approved grade level for position.

  • Ability to read simple prose, in a form equivalent to typescript or printing, on familiar subjects.

Responsibilities

  • Package products according to SOPs and batch record specifications for shipping.
  • Inspect products for defects and ensure labels, codes, and quantities meet specs.
  • Remove defective products for rework or disposal.
  • Alert personnel to quality issues and stop the line if needed.
  • Rotate through packing functions and perform at expected levels.
  • Complete cleaning duties and 5S around the plant for safety and organization.
  • Follow safety policies and handle materials with appropriate gear.
  • Complete required paperwork and production documentation accurately.
  • Support and mentor temporary staff on packing roles.
  • Overtime and weekend work may be required.
  • Comply with PCI Pharma Services, cGMP, and GCP policies.

Job description

Position Title: Packer Wage: $15.00 - $18.60 per hour Shift: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, weekend Hours: 6:45am-3:00pm (Mon-Fri); 2:45pm-11:00pm (Mon-Fri); 8:45pm-7:00am (Mon-Thurs); 6:45pm-7:00am (Fri-Sun); 6:45am-7:00pm (Fri-Sun)

As a Packer, you’ll work hands-on with a team to package products, ensure quality, keep the workspace running smoothly, and make sure every product is ready to ship. Bring your energy, attention to detail, and teamwork to the line—and help deliver quality from start to finish!

Packer Responsibilities
  • Package products according to SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedure), WP’s (Work Process) and batch record specifications in preparation for shipping. Typical tasks include, but are not limited to: assembling components, loading machines, constructing boxes, taping, labeling, removing damaged shippers, palletizing, maneuvers pallets using a pallet jack, performing product changeover duties
  • Ensure the quality compliance of the products being packed by inspecting for defects such as legible and accurate codes, effective seals, appropriate quantity, etc., in order to ensure all specifications are met
  • Remove defective products into the proper location for rework or disposal
  • Alerts appropriate personnel to any potential quality issues discovered and stops the line, as needed, until further direction is received
  • Rotates through all packing functions and performs at expected levels
  • Completes cleaning functions including responsibilities during line clearances, cleaning equipment and areas, and 5S (Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain method) around the plants to ensure a safe, organized work environment
  • Follows all company and facility safety policies, procedures and guidelines. Handles hazardous materials using all appropriate or mandatory safety gear. Immediately reports potentially hazardous situations or conditions
  • Accurately completes required cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices) and/or other paperwork in a legible manner including signing the roster, scanning work order with badge number, and production documentation. Verifies and reviews for accuracy as required
  • Supports & expected to work as a team player as a Packer
  • Assist in coaching & mentoring employees and temporary staff members to new Packer role
  • This position may require overtime and/or weekend work
  • Knowledge of and adherence to all PCI Pharma Services, cGMP, and GCP (Good Clinical Practices) policies, procedures, and rules
